Paramedics-to-be and IVs

Well I've made it through the first couple weeks! =D The homework load has not been too bad and I've passes, praise the Lord all the quizes so far, including the pop-quiz this morning. Yay! Nor have I been suicidal! They said that several students from the previous class hit suicidal about two-three weeks into it.

Here are a couple things that I would really like your prayer in for this upcoming time:

Prayer for safety! - We are starting to work with IVs so even just when working in the lab with my classmates pray that we would all be safe with the needles and everything else!

Also when we get out into our clinicals and internships - Two of the paramedic students from the previous class while going through their internship, just last week were exposed to dirty needle sticks. One of the student's patient that they were transporting refuses to be tested. So pray for not only protection but wisdom and attention to detail. That as I start to develop a style and habit in starting IVs and etc that I would be paying attention to detail and the Lord would guide my hands and bless what I do.

The Right Place - we are starting our clinical rotations in several weeks. I will be in the OR and ER. There are several different places we can choose from and I'm planing on two of the hospitals out of 5 in the area. Just pray that I would be listening to where the Lord would have me go. And where I will learn the most and gain from the experience. Also that I would have favor with the doctors and nurses and that I would be on my toes ready for what comes!

The Right Person - I know its a bit down the road, but for our internship next summer we will get assigned a proctor for the duration of our entire internship. And I've heard bad stories of students getting with nasty proctors or proctors who just didn't really care so even now students are trying to complete all their time because their proctor wasn't there; because if your proctor isn't there you can't be. Or just plain not getting good proctors. So I'm already praying really hard that I won't get certain people I already know, thats sounds terrible I know. But if you would pray with me that the Lord would move on the heart of the agency I work with and my instructor that I would be placed with just the right person God has for me. Someone who will teach me, help me, but not give me all the answers...and well, God knows exactly what I'll need. :o)

Thank you for your prayers - they mean so so much. When I walk into class I know this work that the Lord has me doing is covered in prayer. I thank God for you! I love and miss you all!

May the Lord bless you for your partnership in this work!

Paramedic

Hi All,

I want to thank you for your prayers! We have prayed for this for a long time and here I am! The Lord has brought me this far - I am amazed. So if I could ask you to continue to pray because I start paramedic TOMORROW! I'm so nervous and so excited. I need God's grace, wisdom and understanding. There is so so so much already and I need help, God's help to make it. Prayers would be great.

If you could also pray for physical strength. I started Emergency Rescue. AND there are labs which are we actually practice the rescues. Including extrication, confined spaces rescue(which I really really don't want to do), rope rescue and a full on rescue simulation out on a local mountain. Needless to say this body is not what it used to be during Search and Rescue and Fire Explorers. So if you could pray for strength, agility and endurance; I would very much appreciated!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. I love you and miss you all so much!

Blessings!

Hi Y'all

Hi all!

I just wanted put out a quick post to you all. Thank you so much for your prayers for these camps they were amazing and God did a work. We had about 140 some odd kids for Jr. High camp and we had a limit of 160 kids for high school but I think we went over about 6 kids and God did a great work in ALL of them. Thank you again for your prayers.

Summer school is almost done - Thursday, I CAN NOT WAIT to be DONE!!! And I will start my Paramedic classes, thank the Lord in the end of September. The paramedic course itself is a year long; fall through spring with summer for the internship. Prayers for that would be great.

But also Em and I are going to come for a little bit I believe next week sometime so hopefully I'll get to see you all. Thank you again for all your prayers. When I was working at the camp and I needed wisdom and strength I really felt confident because I knew you all were praying. May the Lord bless you!

I miss y'all!

A Guest Blogger

I have my daughter's permission to be a guest blogger today!
Hmmmmm....what to say?! So many thoughts come to mind. ;~)

Just kidding...She is off to Junior High Camp as medic. (She survived High School Camp, thanks to the Lord, your prayers, and with a little help from coffee and energy drinks! She learned, and gleaned, and grew!)

Now she is off for another week but this time just as the medic. She covets your prayers for wisdom and discernment. This camp brings some campers (kids) with some serious pre-existing conditions. Also, she has to drive back from the coast to attend classes on Tuesday, so prayers for safety on her drive back and forth, would be appreciated too. Em is going with her as a counselor.

So, Father, I pray, in Jesus name, for these two that Your power and anointing would be upon them. I pray that they would be sensitive to Your Holy Spirit and His leading. Please give them wisdom beyond their years of experience. Remind them of Your faithfulness to equip them with everything that they would have need of during this camp. Please give them insight, discernment and word-of-knowledge understanding. May they lead all whom they come in contact with a little closer to the One and Only, Jesus - who brings life and life abundantly. May their words and hands be seasoned with Life and grace and healing.

Father, I pray that You would bind the strongman, that his plans and devices against this camp would come to no avail and totally be null and void. May Your name be glorified in all that is done and said. May You guide and direct the leadership and may they be willing to change directions and to follow Your leading immediately and without hesitation. Please give wisdom in abundance to the counselors and medic. May You be Lord of this camp and the games and the conversations. May the rules be followed and campers realize that all Your percepts and 'rules' are for their protection and for their good. May they come to know You deeper and this camp give them solid footing to grow on. For those that don't know you yet as the Lord and Savior - may each one be wooed by the Holy Spirit and may they yield to Your love and give their life to You. Bring word-of-knowledge preaching and teaching and may the prophetic gift be in abundance. Have Your way in this camp. May they know Your Power and Might and Holiness and great great Love for each one of them! In Jesus name, AMEN!

Thanks for letting me pray and give an update. I can't guarantee an update after they get back because school and 12 hour shifts in the ER will be waiting. (so any prayers for understanding -especially in ALGEBRA - would be so appreciated!)

Love to you all!

Pray for High School Camp

Hi Guys,

Hope your summer is going great! It is amazing down here and 100 degrees and I'm loving IT! So tomorrow I am off to counsel high school camp with the church - I'm really excited for a week of Jesus, crazy fun and no sleep!

'Tis will be fun and I am asking for your prayers for myself and for the rest of the counselors; that the Lord would grant us wisdom and discernment and energy to keep up with these young wipper-snappers! ;) But also for the kids, we have some returning kids who were once on fire and in love with their Lord Jesus but now are suicidal. Pray that this camp will be a lasting impression and the the love of Jesus would show and be shown to these kids. And that I would have patience, and understanding. That the counselors would have understanding with each other and that we would meld together and be labors in His name.

Amazing things do happen at camp, always God is good. But the enemy will surely be out to discourage that...Lord I just bind the enemy's works in Jesus name and that You would be glorified. Not just at camp, but in the lives of the kids two months after camp, a year after camp, two years and 10 years down the road their lives would truly just show You Jesus! I pray for us, Lord the counselors - this next week we will be demanded of to a new extent that can not be fulfilled humanly. Jesus I ask for a supernatural power - fill us; with strength, patience, discernment, wisdom and love, and You are love. Fill us overflowing with You.

Please keep us all safe on the trip up, may we have some crazy fun, but protect us and keep us safe - as we enjoy fellowship, the worship, the food, the Word and YOU! I thank you that You are a good God and Father and You want what is best for us; be Jesus of this trip and be the Lord over my mouth!

I praise You and I love you Jesus. Thank you for my brothers and sister that pray with me and support me - two or three are gathered in Your name, You are here with us! Thank you Jesus. We love You and praise You, In Jesus name. Amen!

Co-Labors

Hi there All!

So I finished my first year at school down here - can you believe it I've been gone almost a year now. And I made it with good grades, thanks to help, study partners, hard work, prayer, prayer, prayer and more prayer! ;D Thank you so much for praying. But once again, and probably not for the last time I'm going to ask for more prayers. Monday I have my interview for the Paramedic Program. Part of it is an oral interview and the other part is patient assessment. They give you a scenario and you have to display your BLS (Basic Life Support) skills. And I have to say this is truly one place I fall very short on: is patient assessment. I really, really have a hard time with it while I was in EMT school - my instructors even worked with me because I struggled so much with it.

So please I ask for your prayers for this interview and that God's will would be done.

And if I get in that the glory would go to Him, and if I fail and don't get that He would prepare my heart for that devastation.

But also, that He would continue to prepare a way for me to go to Africa. That I would find a group or people to go with and stay with and that doors would begin to open up again.

Thank you soooo much for your prayers, love and support. I don't know how I would have made it this far with out you all! Paul said that you are co-labors with me. My hands may touch those in Africa but it will have been your bended knees that got me there, and by that you reward is that of a co-laborer. I love you and miss you all so much! I'll be back up after the interview hopefully I'll get to see you all again. I'm hoping to stop by Rod's class and see who is there.

Well, good night and thank you again. May the Lord richly bless you!
